ABOUT KNUTSEN
Knutsen OAS Shipping AS is a fully integrated shipping company. We do shipping operation, newbuilding supervision, chartering and project development in-house. The head quarter is in Haugesund, Norway.
Our objective is to maintain a fleet of high quality- and technically advanced vessels. Every vessel we own and operate is of a high technical standard. Knutsen OAS Shipping has a strong focus on health, safety, security, environment and quality throughout the company’s entire range of activities, which is fundamental in our business.
SHIPPING
The LNG vessels are partly operated from our offices in Haugesund and Madrid. We operate nine advanced LNG carriers, of which eight are on long-term fixed contracts of 15 years and beyond. The large vessels have long sailing voyages across the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean.
Knutsen also operate the smallest LNG carrier in the world along on the Norwegian coast. This small LNG carrier is providing LNG fuel to many of the ferries on the Norwegian coast in addition to providing LNG to the industry.
SAFETY
Knutsen, aim to deliver services and products at a high level of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standard that complies with the requirements of our Safety Management System, international & statutory regulations and meets or exceeds contractual and legal obligations.
Our Safety Management System shall focus on providing a safe work place for all employees and satisfying and meeting the customers’ requirements and expectations. It is the Stated Policy of Knutsen to ensure that no personnel are injured during their employment for KOAS, including visitors and others who may be affected by our activities.
KNUTSEN TECHNOLOGY
The company actively works on a number of new projects, including the new ship concept PNG ®, and emission reduction system KVOC® as well as the new Ballast Water treatment System, KBAL ® for which the company has strong expectations.
Knutsen has an active approach regarding implementation and development of technology for reducing emissions to water and air. Knutsen Technology has developed its own system for reducing VOC emissions (volatile oil compounds) in connection with loading of shuttle tankers offshore on the Norwegian Continental Shelf where there are strict requirements for VOC emissions. Knutsen Technology has also developed its groundbreaking Ballast Water treatment technology which has now received the Type Approval Certificate from DNV and is commercialized.
