New contract of Small Scale LNG Carrier

On Friday 30th of November a delegation from Knutsen OAS Shipping met top management of Edison in Milan, Italy, to sign a 12 year contract of LNG transportation on a small scale LNG carrier.
The vessel will have the capacity of 30.000 cbm LNG and will be mainly operating in the Mediterranean delivering LNG to Italy.
«The Norwegian company Knutsen OAS will be the shipowner and Hyundai Heavy Industries will be in charge of the construction at Mipo shipyard (South Korea)», said press release from Edison Friday 30th of November.
– We have been working for a long time to get this contract and are very pleased. We are looking forward to a long relationship with a new charterer, Edison, says Synnøve Seglem, Deputy Managing Director in Knutsen OAS Shipping.
– Fundamental element
The vessel will be delivered in Q2-2021 and will be equipped with a high efficiency dual fuel engine (marine and natural gas fuel), as well as reliquefaction unit which guarantees a higher level of operational flexibility and a further improvement in terms of containment of environmental impact.
